KAY is a family of ZX Spectrum-compatible computers developed by NEMO in Saint Petersburg. The models retained compatibility with Spectrum software while providing more memory and expansion options.

KAY variants

• KAY-128 – an early model with 128 KiB of memory.
• KAY-256 – a 256 KiB version; later Turbo and SL3 variants expanded its capabilities.
• KAY-1024 – introduced in 1998 with 1 MiB of RAM to compete with advanced Spectrum clones. It could be equipped with PC-keyboard and hard-disk interfaces.

The KAY family is notable for extending the Spectrum architecture while retaining the ability to run familiar software and use hardware expansions.
